Engine: 305 TBI

Transmission: 700R4

Axle/Gears: 3.42

Changed Rear End Oil And Still...

I changed the gear oil in my 10 bolt rear end this weekend and I'm still having a whining sound coming from the rear end. Any ideas on what this could possibly be? I saw no metal or broken teeth while I had the cover off.

Well, if you've got a posi rearend you'll need some posi additive or you'll get the whine. If it's not posi, I guess you're screwed...

My POS rear whines like a hungry baby, too

I've been told its my bearings that are bad. I havent done anything about it though, since I plan on purchasing a 12 Bolt or a 9" soon, anyway

Not a posi. It drives very good except for that annoying whine. I just bought the car 2 weeks ago and I'm giving it a thorough going threw and this is the only thing that I'm stumped on. Keep the suggestions coming please.
