rear end selection

I currently own an 89 Gta with a posi 9 bolt 3.27. I am just finishing up my 383 and I am wondering what kind of punishment this rear end will take before I have to get a broom and dustpan The motor is a 383 with Vortec heads, HOT cam and stock intake. If I do go with a replacement rear end should I go with a 10 bolt with SLp posi or one of the twelve bolts? If a twelve bolt any suggestions on brand would be great. Thanks in advance. -John

I will avoid running my mickey thompson slicks if you guys think this thing is gonna go

I just rebuilt my 10 bolt. Cost me about 1000.00, and I did the setup myself. If I had it to do over, it'd have a 12 bolt in it.

I've been running my 9 bolt for over 3 years now with no problems. The 9 bolt is a lot stronger than a 10 bolt. I run slicks with 1.72-1.75 60 ft times. More information on the 9 bolt is on my page at www.9bolt.com check the FAQ section.

GM's stock gars are not known for there strength back then. Keep in mind that rear was supposed to hold 220 max hp and 300 ft lbs of torque!. Just something to think about....it will work just not for long I think
