Really, how hard on..........

a scale from 1-10 would it be to swap out a A4 for T-56. I am getting my new engine and I need something to back it up. I have seen some articles about swapping, but you guys read and go by them or did you "hail mary" it so to speak? I know this has probably been asked 1000's of times, but I am sorta new to this BB. thanks.

I myself have not done the swap but I can give you a few pointers.. If you are not strong in fabricating your own parts buy the T56 crossbrace from www.skulte.com that will save you a lot of headaches. Peel back your carpeting and insulation to check if your chassis has the marks for the pedal assy. If not then goto a junkyard at take detailed dimensions of the holes you need to make. You will also have to cut a hole in the tunnel for the shifter. Your best bet would to buy a complete setup. I see them on ebay all the time. Make sure you don't buy a 98+ trans, they are not compatible. You will also have to do some wiring. The signal for the speedo is different so you will need to buy a converter. I beleive Dakoda Digital makes a nice and cheap one.
Check out the electronics board for that info.
