swapping in ford 9"

what is involved in changing from a gm 10 bolt to a ford 9" rear? by the way this is for a 72 nova.

you will need to make sure its the same width of the origanal axle, also you will need to weld in all new spring pearches and shock mounts, probley need a diffrent u joint, possibly new driveshaft.

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
With the leaf springs of the Nova, it's a lot easier than putting one in a third gen. Everything TempesT68 said.

thanks guys, my best friends nova has been out for a few weeks cuz of broken rear end and the other day we found a ford 9" and figured what the hell it would be a cheap alternative (free) untill a good 12 bolt good be found.
