whats up with my rearend?

ive been wondering why my car wasent posi, i thought it was but the posi unit was bad in it but i got under the car yesterday and pulled the rusty tag off the rear end i know the tag on the posi rear's say use limited slip gear oil only but mine said "Spin Resistant Diff" and "use approved gear lube" or somthing like that, so i take it its not posi besides that its only a 9 bolt rearend, is it rare for an Iroc to not have posi? is the non posi rear part of any kind of special handeling package or anything? just wondering thanks -Don

That is a posi, limited slip, spin resistant, what ever you want to call it. Yours is probably worn out, that's all.

Also, the 9 bolt is much stronger than the 10 bolt rear.
