energy suspension mount is too tall for my T5
energy suspension mount is too tall for my T5
i just finished the energy suspension motor mounts, and when i tried installing the tranny mount, i noticed it has an extra plate, the mount is too tall, and it has two bolts that dont seem to fit anything. im asuming the plate just goes under the mount, and presses against the two humps of urethane on the bottom. but the mount is still a half inch to tall, and i dont know what this hardware is for. it doesnt fit anything. not the tranny, and not the mount. am i doing something wrong? this is the tranny mount that came with the complete package. all the other bushings and stuff seemed to fit fine. (manual transmission, 305)

Read the instructions that came with the mount. The plate is for preloading the mount against the tranny.
The mount shouldn't be too tall. Try to lift the tranny up and get it in there. It should fit without the tranny banging up against the tunnel.
There are two bolts because some vehicle crossmembers use two bolt holes instead of one. You'll just need one bolt to go through the center on the Camaro/Firebird. Are you sure the bolts don't fit into the 3 holes on the mount??? If they don't, are you sure you haven't used the wrong bolts somewhere? What part number is this kit, anyway? It might be for a different vehicle.
Well, if you do figure it out, I'll go ahead and tell you that you'll probably have to widen the slot in the crossmember for the mounting bolt.
