I'm looking for good places to search for a used T5 or T56 setup to convert from automatic - salvage yards, swap meets, whatever. Any links or advice is appreciated.

 

i have one i dont want and wish to swap to auto, but am in IL, trans and all is in car still, im gonna be pulling drivetrain soon

no idea, its an 84 firebird SE 3.73, so ,,,, trying to rid of whole car, sell cheap or trade for pickup running or not, like 300 bucks cheap, i dont understand the lack of interest, it doesn need engine swapped out with the other i have, but still,...

Yeah, I'm interested. We can come to see the car as we are 45 minutes away. Is the car in running condition. Like can we drive it home? How good is the body? Sorry for the questions. I know I cant be choosy for 300, but just trying to get an idea of what the car is like. Thanks

Hey guys, i had no idea anyone was interested in car, am surprised after lack of interest there has been, well i can describe what i can right here for now

body damage:
ding dent thingy on driver door, one hole way down low on front corner, and one hole in middle of top of rear wheel arch, both about size of quarter, anywhere else it is surface rust that needs sanded off and metal epoxy primed, interior is all intact and clean, engine runs but got a knock. i need to go get the replacement engine for it. does ru and drive and brake and steer and all but its noisy with the knock, would be best to tow or trailer i think.
I stuck a pair of 235 75 15 on the rear because i didnt like the junk 14" tires and alum wheels it had on it.,, front is still 14" and finned gold alum bird wheels, so.,,

basically if someone fixed the two holes and ding deal and swapped the other engine in it, it would be nice, i want ot but am trying to assemble 71 C-10 right now and find engine for 82 t/a and cut up the 81 cutlass, so hmmm.,,

Mike, i dunno if this is what you would want or not, it depends on what your goal is regarding a vehicle. paintwork and engine swap may be too much, or it may not be.
