Which flywheel size and clutch

I want to swap a T-5 into my 1986 firebird.

Problem #1, my engine is an early 2-piece rear main seal type. Is there a problem getting a flywheel for this engine? Which size is best? or does the larger 168 tooth flywheel have any clearance problems in the bellhousing?

Problem #2, what clutch to get? Everyone talks about the centerforce. Ok. What other alternatives make sense but are less money?

Any body think of a problem using an 11" clutch setup vs 10.5" setup?

If you use the stock bellhousing you can not use a 168 tooth flywheel or 11" clutch, they will not fit. Call a few wrecking yards and ask for a flywheel for a 82-85 camaro, that is a stock GM 153 tooth for a 2pc RMS.

You can also look into McCleod or Ram for a clutch. The correct size is 10.4" (some call it 10.5") 1-1/8" 26 spline input shaft.

thanks!

I'll keep looking then - a local machine shop had an 11" flywheel for me, but I was skeptical about the size. Glad I asked.
