Rearend gear swap question
Rearend gear swap question
I'm wanted to get richmond 3.42s, and a powertrax locker unit.
Two questions:
1) The gears come in either series 2 or series 3. I have series 2 now, 28 spline axles (91 Z28, 2.73 posi). Do I get the series 2 carrier gears, or do I get something specifically for the powertrax unit?
2) I was assuming that since it's a new differential unit, I'd pull the posi out and put the powertrax in. Then I clicked the technical tab on Summit: "Must be installed into an open style differential, will not work with limited slips, lockers, or posi units of any kind."
That confused me. Please help
Thanks guys, pardon the flurry of newbie questions!

Why do you want a Powertrax locker? Are you gonna be racing at the track? For the street an Eaton posi would work much better, and they're only $40 more.
