Which converter should I use?

The question is which type of converter do I need? I know the stall should be somewhere in the 2200-2400 range, but do I need a basic 12" "heavy duty" higher stall converter, a B&M or the equivalent, which seems to be the same thing but more expensive, or an ACT or similar 9.5" converter for about $500? Is there that much of a difference between the more reasonably priced 9.5' converters and the $1000 Vigilante converters? I'll be buying a street/strip rebuilt 200r4 in the near future, so now's the time for me to decide on a converter. I will be running lock-up also Everything needs to be streetable and reliable because this is a daily driver that see's a few street races on the weekends. I want to do it all right this time so I never have to worry about it. The car is the 79 malibu in my profile. It weighs approx. 3300lbs, the cam spects are 208 and 221deg, .474 and .510 in. lift, 112deg. LSA. 3.70 gears, and it will eventually see a shot of nitrous.
