Is my TC causing this?

When I'm running WOT in third and I reach about 80mph the rpm's drop a little and the car starts pulling a lot harder, I have been told that this is my TC locking up, is this true? Would an after market convertor give me this extra pull all of the time?

I suppose it's possible. The ECM forces the TC to lock up at around 70-75 mph. That would at least explain the RPM drop.

I had similar problem:

If you think the rpm's drop and pulling are "normal", I suppose is the TC "engaging" the engine with the wheels.

If the rpm's drop and pulling are too much (it was my problem), it can be a bad engine's power and a complete engine's overhaul must be considerated.

Compare with similar cars.

Compare the problem's evolution into next months. It is increased? = bad symptom.

I mean the car starts going faster not pulling from side to side, the engine was about 4000mi on it. At 80mph the rpm's will drop a little and the car starts going faster, so I think it's a good thing.
