take off the cover let it all drain out. make sure you have a new gasket and put the cover back on and torque it down to specs. take out the little plug at the top and pour in the new lube

If you have the $$$, buy an aftermarket diff cover with a drain plug built in. Or maybe you could get one machined for less.

If you use non-synthetic fluid there is an additive that you're supposed to use as well if you've got posi. I can't remember what it is right now but you should be able to find easy enough.

Don't use the gasket or it WILL leak. Use black RTV instead. 1/4" bead all the way around

I started a thread on this very thing which started a gasket debate.

I used the gasket with blue sealer. I was told by Miles at www.9bolt.com to torque the bolts to 20-25 foot pounds. I used GM's posi additive and Valvoline 80-90 fluid.
