More gear questions!!

Okay, a few more questions. By the way, Im in the Army, stationed in South Korea right now, so its not as if I can go out in the driveway and look at Diff or axle #'s, and I havent seen my car in about 12 months, so some things tend to get fuzzy, anyway, please bear with me. Ive been doing quite a bit of research on swapping gears. I definitely want to go with a 3.42 gear, and a posi unit, all of which I hope I can pull out of a salvage yard. .......I shouldnt need a bigger carrier, should I??? Which installation kit do you guys reccomend? And, what donor vehicles might I find the gears and posi unit sitting in, just so I know where to start looking when I get to the yard. Thanks for any help. Oh, I almost forgot, (mousemaker) mentioned the 3.42's from National Drivetrain for $149, well thats the price for the 7.5 - 7.58" Diff, and from what I understood, the rearend in the 92 RS's are 10 bolt 8.5"ers, $139 incidentally. Somebody please let me know if Im misunderstanding the info thats out there, or am I confusing myself? Any part #'s would be cool too. Thanks again.

A 92 RS has a 7.625 ring gear and 28 spline axles. Get the posi unit from slp.

Most 4th gen cars have the 3.42 earend. It may be cheaper for you to just buy the whole rearend at the junkyard, unless you plan on putitng the gears in yourself.

gtabadboy, you might be right. I am still kind of confused. Nationaldrivetrain has an Eliminator 3.42 set in 7.5- 7.5/8, and a set for 10 bolts in 8.5!!. Still doesnt sound right from what 88 427 camaro says............Now what?
