Help Please
Im buying another third gen and it has a bad tranny, i was hoping to use the 700 from my now wrecked old thirdgen but my question is is the 700 i want to use is behind an lg4 and i want to put it behind the new l69, but the l69 has a higher redline, will the tranny shift at 4500-5000 or will the computer hold it to 5500-6000. If not do i need to just swap valve bodies? the problem with the trans in the new car is it only goes in like reverse and 1st gear, it doesnt shift. HELP PLEASE.

The computer does not shift the trans, the governor inside the trans does that. It can be adjusted by different weights & springs.

I'd suggest removing the governor from the burnt-up 700r4, cleaning it, and installing it into your "good" 700r4. What are the years of the two transmissions?

the good tranny that shifts at 4500-5000 is an 83, the bad one that shifts at 5500-6000 is an 84, are the 700's the same all years or would the governer out of the 84 only work on other certain years?
