I just had the automatic transmission rebuilt in my 1990 nissan stanza, he even put in a new TC. When in first gear even when babying it the transmission shifts at 5000 RPM. It should shift about 3k right?

Then when on the highway ill be driving, let off the gas and then start pressing it again and it only rev's until I let off and then press again and it will grab the gear again. Slipping?

He told me he filled the transmission to the top and it has an automatic overflow which will leak tranny oil out till it is back to the level it is supposed to be at. I dont know if that is for real or not, but I am leaking oil and it is about the level it should be at.

Does it sound like it just needs adjusting or did he just not fix it right?

I'm sorry to say but what kind of "mechanic" fills a transmission to
the top to let it flow out?
I'm a bit confused. sounds like it was over filled and popped a seal? I'm not a tranny guru.
tell him to fix it.

Very confused.

He fills the trans at top? or at FULL mark?.

What oil/fluis was used? ATF? SAE10? (I knew an stupid that fills a Subaru's trans with SAE 90 oil).

How is the dipstick tube installed? .

You needs give us more information for diagnose.
