which richmond installation kit?

i don't know which gear swap kit to order. do i need the full kit or will a 1/2 kit do the job? as far as i know, my differential housing has never been opened and the car has 103,000 miles on it. do i need to replace the bearings? also, i am using gears from a 4th gen. how do i know whether or not i need a new carrier?
thanks

also, i think i have 2.73's from the factory. is there any way i can be sure? i know this would affect carrier size. my car is an automatic (700-R4). if this is the wrong series carrier, what can i do to still use the 4th gen gears?
thanks

I would go with the Ratech Deluxe Kit from Summit or the Richmond Mega Kit from Jegs, they come with everything you need, plus wheel bearings and axle seals. they are each about 120

Depends on what gears you are putting in there. If you are going with 3.23s or steeper, you need a new carrier... or a new gearset designed for the 2 series carier.... Since you have a 92 (28 spline axles), check out http://www.slponline.com and get the Torsen take off. With 2... whatever gears you had, it was prolly a one-legger??? For $99 this can't be beat... They have carrier bearings already on them, but they don't guarantee they are good so check them. You prolly need the full kit as the pinion head bearing is difficult to get off anyway without damage.... Also make sure to drop a .035" shim on the pinion before you press the bearing on. This is usually the right amount. Check your pattern and dont attempt to hammer the bearings on (But if you do, use a piece of pipe to hit the inner surface.... One whack on the outer cage and the bearing is toast )
