I was in drive today (not Overdrive) and I was pushing it pretty hard, usually my transmission would be a little slow to shift but would always shift at or before 5500rpms well tonight i was accelerating and it wouldnt shift, I was at about 65 and it wouldnt shift up, so I hit it a little harder to try and get it to shift but it still wouldnt and as i neared 80 it was getting into the 6000's, so i shifted into drive and let off the gas to drop the rpms back down. Why isnt my transmission shifting right in Drive?

my trans did that....a few days ago...EXATCLY that....see sig to find out where it landed me in a few more days. Like it did it over and over.

What the heck does that mean? 3/4 clutch pack?

 

Also is there anything i can do to try and prevent my transmission from dying? I havent got the money for another one at the moment.

 

The 3-4 Clutches come on in... 3rd and 4th. This is a common weak point especially if they get pushed hard. At this point it is just a matter of time so all I can say is drive it easy.
