U joint removal

hey, I'm trying to replace my u joints but i cant figure out how to get them off. It looks like a plastic pin goes through the ends but how do i remove it? Any input asap would be great. Thanks

Its not a pin, thats where GM injected plastic to retain the U joint caps. To get them out use a propane torch to melt the plastic then knock the caps to either side with a drift and hammer.
