Remove the small 10mm hex head bolt that holds the cable to the trans. Pull the cable out. It is attached by a wire bent into a hook to the eyelet on the end of the cable. To install pull the wire up from the trans & hook through the eyelet. Have someone pull on the engine end of the cable slightly to keep it hooked while you push it back into the trans. Reinstall 10mm bolt. It can be a real PITA because of tight quarters.
