transmission question for '82 & '83 coupe

i've got a small problem. i just got this sport coupe that was supposed to be an 82 according to paper on the car but it looks like it may be an 83 using the VIN lookup on this website. anyway, here's the main question. the transmission is a 3 speed with an overdrive label below the shifter. i think i have it narrowed down to a th350 or 700r4...any help out there i would appreciate (both year id and tranny id) thanks a bunch.

the th350 is a transmission that is 3-speed with no overdrive. if you have a overdrive tranny and the vin is for a '83 then you are almost for certain to have the 700. however if your car is really a '82 then you most likely have the 200c tranny...good luck.

The THM200 has a pan shaped like a THM350, HOWEVER, the THM200 will have the words HYDRAMATIC DIV. and METRIC stamped into the pan.

more info

thanks a bunch for the responses! i've got a little more info after crawling around under there for awhile. my coupe is an'83 for sure as i found a date stamp on the door and the vin# coding is an 83. the pan pattern (thanks) looks like the thm350 however the slant at the corner of the pan is at the rear passenger side. looks like somebody swapped out the original 700 tranny and put this one in. there is a couple of small circles stamped on the driver side and 1 has 1178 on the bottom (i think). also there is a stamped no. on the passenger side of the pan. don't have with me i'll post # later as i'm old an my memory is questionable. important clue is as i was reading posts looks like the 700r has an ecm connection on the tranny ... well there is a connector near the lines that is unconnected that used to be hooked to the 700. is it looking like a 200? thanks guys.

mystery solved..it's a 350

looks like someone did the swap from the 700 to the 350.
got the orientation on the pan pic right this time. the pan was cracked, the lines are leaking but the fluid looked good considering last service may have been 7+ years. i'm putting in a trans cooler and new lines and keep my fingers crossed. later

The TH200 has a one-piece case. Tail housing cannot be
removed like that of a TH350 or 700-R4.

200c is NOT and overdrive tranny, it is a three speed forward range tranny just like a 350 or 400 or 375b or 425 or 250
there are 350c out there too, c is for lockup verter, does NOT stand for extra gear, IE., O/D

good luck
