how do i hook nuetral safety switch up on bm mega shifter??
i have the console shifter in my 88 bird i hooked the relay up like they told me to but last year wheni put it in i could never get the safety switch to work properly. the car starts in every gear. i wana start doing some racing for money at the track and to pass tech i need to have it hooked up its been so long since i wired it i cant find my directions that came with the shifter and i need to hook it up asap so i can pass tech any help would be great thanks

Sounds like your switch is either shorted, or the wiring wasn't done quite right.

i just intalled one in my car but i also have alot of experiance in wiring (grandfather is a tv repair man)
i put mine in and it worked great
they say that you have to adjust the switches so it will only switch on when it is in park or nutrel
i would loosen the screws that hold the switchs in place and move them way a very little bit from the shifter and see if this helps any

I agree with the "switch alignment" idea. Plus, with those microswitches, you can actually bend the metal "lever" of the switch (be careful, use two pair of needle nose pliers on the lever ONLY, so you don't ruin the inside of the switch).
i remember i had to jumper a wire to get the dang car to start buit when i did that it started in all gears i just wana make it right now so i can bracket race i just could never figure out what was wrong. thats why i jumpered it to make it work

maybe i should then i could figure out where i went wrong lol!! good luck its not that hard to install obviously the hardest part for me was the wiring and i am still trying to figure that out
