Problem with SLP's take off posi's?

I just had my rear rebuilt with a new SLP take off posi and 3.42 gears from another car. No gear whine, but I have a sound like dragging brakes, (it's not the brakes or axle bearings). I noticed some of that noise in the posi before the rear was assembled, so I'm thinking maybe I got a defective unit. Anyone know what this could be? Possibly just the way these things are?

I used the Pennzoil brand gear oil with the posi additive already in it. The noise seems to be getting better, but is still noticable. I'll be making a phone call to SLP this week.

before getting too torqued up, try adding the GM additive. Get it from a dealer. This could solve your problem..do a search on the topic , you will see.

Since the SLP takeoff posi has gears instead of clutches, you shouldn't need any additive, right?

Yea, no clutches no need for the friction modifier. Of course if I was selling the stuff for five dollars a bottle I would telll you to put in several bottles yea thats what you need.

I thought that the slp posi was a clutch style posi. Also what do you mean by a gear type? They are all going to have gears, but there will aslo be a way of connecting the axles that will be able to slip.

There was a TSB on torsens making noise. Seemed the posi additive made them quiet even though there isn't any clutches inside.
