I have an almost completly stock '86 Iroc. Today I noticed, every time I hit the gas any amount, a "clunk" sound came from, I believe, the rear axle. This "clunk" sound also happens when I let off the gas after I hit the gas a little.
I don't know what this noise is, but I don't know if I f***ed something up when I did brake stands last week to kill off the rest of my tires, so I could get new tires, but that was a week ago.
Thanks for any ideas

For $38 the prblem is fixed. All it was was worn torque arm bushings on the transmission. However if it wore through the bushings I would have had to replace the torque arm, but it held up to 1500 miles after the problem first appeared....I got lucky on that one.
