rear end rebuilt...how much power will it take?

I just had my rear rebuilt. it is a 10 bolt with stock axles from an 84 unfortunately. any way, it has richmond 3.73 gears, new carrier, cross pin, bearings, etc. a richmond mini-spool, welded axle tuges, and a new cover with the girdle that cranks down onto the caps. how much hp/tq do you think this will handle before i blow it again?

Dan Burk (www.ws6transam.org) has said on his "better 10 bolt) page that the useful limit of a 10 bolt stops at 400 horsepower.

You have taken the right steps by getting a case girdle, welding the tubes, etc. Look like you found Dan's article!

The spool is going to keep your rear wheels locked together at all times. Hard launches with slicks will increase the stress presented to the axle assembly, possibly increasing the chance of breakage. If you have done everything from the tech articles to re-inforce the rear axle, I'd presume you should be able to dish 350 horse to that 10-bolt.

Rear axles are not fun to blow up, they make hellish messes.

Well just my two cents... driveline parts can take any amount of power to a certain extent. It's the shock of the quick acceleration and launches (from slicks) that destroy drivetrain parts.
