park doesn't work, car stays in neutral

park doesn't work, car stays in neutral

my friends 700r doesn't have park anymore, you can push the car around like it's in neutral. how does the park mechanism work on these??

There is a parking pin that kinda stops it. It could either be that or the cable from the shifter to the tranny could be messed up or something. If its the parking pin I think he is pretty much screwed.

Axle/Gears: 3.42
There's a pawl in the back of the case. The manual valve has a rod with a step on it, In the park position it rides up the step and engages internally. It is accessible without dropping the valvebody.
