T56 Swap to old block ?'s
Hello's, I actually have two questions...
First off. My engine is a 388 circa '73 so I have it externally balanced. I got the Centerforce PN 700173 flywheel (153 tooth two piece rms, external balance)
Now, first ?. The starter, I have an offset starter and need to drill/tap a hole. Will I have to tap the other hole too with a '95 camaro starter? Or do I need those other mini's that have 4 bolt holes in them?
Another ? is with the t56 wiring. Theres a plug toward the back on the drivers side which appears to be the speedo, but what's the rest. There's one right under the shifter and two on the other side. Is the one next to the shifter the reverse lockout or the reverse lights or CAGS?
Any help from the swappers would save me alot of time... especially with the starter.
Thanx

Can't tell you about the wire... but the starter only needs one hole added to the block, it will be the one nearer the crank that is missing. That should fit either the stock late-model starter, as long as it's for 12¾" ring gear; or one of the mini units. You can use one of those that has the 12¾" bolt pattern only, or one with the 4 holes.
On my 400 (same situation), I have the CVR with 4 holes, using the 12¾" ring gear pattern. I had to drill the inner hole also.
