Makein my gears possie
You can weld the rearend to make it a posi, but I would not do this, just for the simple that when the weld brakes and if you put any serious amount of power to it, it will, then you have peices of metal floating in your rearend and this can destroy your rearend. I would just go out and get a posi unit. I have had good luck with Auburn posi units, they can be a bit pricey though. You could also go to the local junk yard and get a rearend that is already complete with a posi. Just a few ideas.

Dude, isn't a possie like a group of thugs that you hang out with? I think you may be referring to posi-traction. If you buy a spool, expect to break things or chew up tires. Get yourself a complete "possie" rearend from a junk yard. Look for a little aluminum tag that says "Limited Slip Differential Fluid Only" . It will be on the diff cover. I paid $65 for one.
You will then need to remove the old diff in your car, remove the old ring gear, bolt the old ring gear on the "possie" differential, and re-install. It's just that easy!
