Got new engine need new trans....help
I just got a L98 350 TPI to put in my 91 camaro (it previously had a TBI 305) and I need a new transmission.... I want to make it manual but I heard that chevy never mated a 5 speed to the 350 in 3rd gens..... would a t-5 not handle the torque..... do I need a T56 or a World Class T5?

What he said; on the other hand, if you avoid beating on your T-5, i.e. no 5000 RPM clutch dumps and no speed shifting, it should hold up just fine. There's a difference between what GM is willing to warranty, and what will survive with a minimum of user intelligence.
FYI, I an driving a 91 model T-5 that I had for about 30,000 miles behind a 400 that is a whole lot stronger than your typical TPI motor (373 RW ft-lbs at one particular time), it seems to be doing just fine.

RB83L69, you said that the t-5 will hold a 350 if driven ... maturely
?
how much would it cost for me to get a really good, strong t-5 setup ? all the parts, etc i'd put in myself.
i promise i won't do any of those stupid 5000rpm drops ... poor car
