Rearend maintinence
I've got an '89 IROC-Z with the Borg-Warner 2.77 limited-slip rearend. The car has been up on stands for a while for a rebuild, and I've noticed that the rearend has leaked, although it's not too obvious from where. The weird thing to me is that the whole cover plate is covered with fluid. This car hasn't been driven for a few months, so you'd think it'd just leak down, but it almost looks like it came out with pressure from the fluid plug (the the big round thing in the middle). I haven't found any fluid on the ground. Also, it seems like there is a high-pitched squeak comming from the input shaft on the rearend (where the driveshaft hooks up) when I turn it.
Is this a common thing to happen? What do I need to do about it--use a gasket or sealant? Also, I understand that parts are hard to find for Borg-Warner rearends, so if I need something that I can't get at an Autozone or O'Reilly, where should I go?
Also, last thing... What kind of lubricant do I need to be using on this thing? I can remember reading somewhere that you're supposed to use a special lubricant with an additive...
Thanks

Looks like you need a new rear cover gasket and a rubber plug (red or black). Everything else you need (parts and information) for a 9 bolt is at www.9bolt.com
