700R4 pros

Well I've been tooled around with for the last few months on my tranny, I specifically specified a Transgo kit, amung some other parts and the builder decided his opinion was more correct than the customers request. So here's the question...

Since I was given my trans back with a "Superior" kit in it when that by NO means was what I want, and this has put my car out of commission for WAY TO MUCH of the race season, I need it to go and I need it to go now. Now I understand the virtue of a transgo kit, but like I said the builder refused to install one, so I'm looking for a shift kit I can install without modifying the valve body, I know this is the way a B&M kit is but I also know the problems and damage one can cause, Is there a kit that doesn't require valve body modification that shifts strongly, but moderately at part throttle? Or is the way a B&M kit shifts and works just the nature of the beast when you dont modify the valve body?

Thanks

Did he pull the check valve out of the end put shaft? I built my currant tranny with the Superior kit, don't like it at all. I also used the vette servo and boost valve. I just bought a transgo 2-3 kit and warner rebuild kit for another trans. Are you not using the trans because of the superior kit? The transgo kit modifies the valve body also. These two kits are completely differant, I'm kind of confused right now my self. I thinking about just building one just stock and sticking it back in. Mine sure don't work as well as the one in my bone stock 5.7 blazer. I know a fellow that runs a trans shop here, he claims that if you use the b&m or leave it stock, with hard use the clutchs won't last too long. He says at wot the clutches will slip and cause failure.

He installed my vette servo, my 3-4 WOT upshift valve (Gm) then he picked the clutches (I burnt up the 3-4 band because of no pressure). Anyways he built it, and I noticed all these things, I told him it COULDN'T be a transgo, and I told him it was NOT the stall i sent him (an art carr 2,500) It stalled at 1,800 and shifted like a cadillac, also it would slip in the quarter and smelled like burnt clutch.

I sent it back to him and told him I wanted it all fixed. He then informed me of the superior kit, and blammed the stall on someone else. He said that the clutches in fact burnt yada yada yada....

Anyways I cant race on this POS kit, I need something else, so im just trying to determin if the reason B&Ms break parts because of the adittional stress without the valve body corrections, or if its simply the fault of B&M's engineering

WHat are my shift kit options, I can't get into the transgo thing right now, I need a solve before the season is over.
