T-5 question, need fast response, please

I recently broke my t-5 in my -87 Z28... Bought a 1985 pontiac t-5 that people said it would fit 100%... But it didnīt!!!
The orginal t-5 has alot of splines (26?) but this one got around 12-15 so my clutch plate canīt be used... how do I solve this?? Can I just changes the clutch plate to the one with less splines or do I have to changes more stuff?? like the pressure plate etc??
t-5 are hard to get hold of here in Sweden ..I paid $370 for this tranny and that was cheap... To get hold of a new one would at leat cost me another $600 and I would have to wait to the winter to get one (imported) please give me some advice here guys, thanks.

I'm going to guess that the pontiac T-5 you bought is for a V-6. You can use the smaller V-6 clutch disc but you will lose some holding power and it could slip under hard acceleration. Option 2 is having the V-6 disc hub put into a V-8 disc.

In either case you can still use your current pressure plate.

You can't change the hub.

You could either downgrade your car to the six-cylinder crap, or get the right part. Personally I've been there and done that, and when I got bent over that way, I took the garbage they gave me back, and got the right trans. The 6-cyl gear ratios are different, much wider, which is anti-performance in a general way, and the 14-spine input shaft is much weaker than the 26-spline one.

Don't accept getting ripped off by the junk dealer. Take it back and get what you paid for!!!!!!

People will tell you to use this or that six-cylinder clutch disk, which will in fact make the parts fit. This doesn't make up for devaluing and downgrading your car. Do it right, that way there will be no regrets.

I understand.. but I bought this tranny from a private person, so I donīt think he will take the tranny back :-(
Feels like the whole summer is wrecked.. all my money burned on a tranny I canīt use and I have no money to get the right one (If I ever could find one here i Sweden)
How bad is the V6 tranny? will the car be slower or will the clutch give up quick? Right now I just want to sell the camaro and buy me a honda or some import car and forget about sport cars
