TRANSFLEXO!!!transgo shift kit question.....

ok i got a 700r4 and it was rebuilt by a tranny shop around here. i was told that a shift kit was put in it, but its not a brand name kit, they "make" there own. now i also have a transgo kit laying around that i was gonna put in my trranny...but i just dropped my tranny so during the rebuild i was gonna have it installed. i told the shop that i wnated a .500 boost valve...but i think i also read that the transgo kit p/n 700 has this vlave......is this correct or incorrect?? also, do you think i should have the transgo kit installed,, or just keep the one thats in there????

There kit might be hard shifting rather than a Trans-Go shift kit. There is a difference. I would have a Trans-Go kit install.

They have a website (sort of) http://www.txchange.com
I don't know if you'll find any info there, so I would call them in the morning.

transgo isnt hard shifting?? i dont know what this shift kit was like, cause the tranny was dying when i got the car. the transmission guy says to just leave the old one in there to see how i like it, then i can alaways change it later probly cheap, or no charge. i know that the shift kit thats in there, they did all the valve body drilling and all that fun stuff.

Trans-Go kits do have firmer shifts that are a lot better than stock, but not the break your u-joints type shifts that get old after a few days.
Trans-Go kits also improve on the original design, and in many cases fix know problems.
Take it from me, B&M and the likes just blast up line pressure (drilling holes?) and put undue stress on the trannie, & driveline.

I just got rid of a drilled out valvebody from a B&M manual pak kit, and picked up a stock valvebody (TH-350) for 30 bucks & installed a Trans-Go 350S(No drilling required).

Never been happier!
