Rear End Swap Question!!

Please, I am not looking for opinions on the matter SO PLESE DON NOT POST THEM HERE. I just want to know if switching a 10 bolt rear with 9-bolt rear is straight forward if both have rear disc. The 10 bolt has 1LE brakes and obviously the 9-bolt doesn't. Will I run into any problems? Will the 1LE brakes mount on the 9 bolt easily? Please help, I have no idea.

And again, I do not want opinions about waisting my time with a 9-bolt. I had one for 6 years...beat the hell out of it with a 350 HO....and it never had any problems. Now I have a 10 bolt in a 1LE and its on its way out.

Thanks

The housings as a whole are directly interchangeable. Not sure about mounting of the 1LE brakes though, but IIRC, it's been done. Check the archives.

IF you have a 1989 or later 9-bolt you already have the 1LE disk
brakes. They are the 11.655 rotor with the Alum. caliper on the 9-bolt that year. The rear end swap is pretty straight forward with no problems, did it last year. If you insist on the brake swap, your major problem will be the backing plate and they are not interchaneable between the 10 & 9- bolt.
