Stupid Auto Shifting Question.

since autos severly bore me.
on my car from a stop i go from 1-2-D
and then slowing dow i go from D-2-1

i've ridden with friends that say doing this'll f*k up the trans.
i don't see any reason it would.
am i in danger of funking up my trans by doing this?

I've been doing that for 2 years with absolutely no problems. I beat the living crap outta my tranny because I have a nice new back-up. Anything stupid you can imagine doing to a tranny I've done to my 65,000 mile 700R4 atleast 3 times.
