Budget gear swap!?
Can I swap my ring and pinion out for a lower ratio in a 10-bolt S-10 rear? Does it matter what carrier it has, and can I use the S-10 locking diff? I'm looking to trade my open 2.73's for a posi 3.23. The S-10's axle code is HKC.

take the s10 carrier too, make sure the axles are the same spline. then swao the pinion and install the s 10 carrier. it does matter what series carrier you have and what the replacement gear comes off of.
