I swapped TBIs and manifolds recently. When I hooked up the TV and floored the gas it wouldnt adjust. It would stay all the way back, as if the cable needed to be shortened.

I tied a little knot at the end of the line and got it to adjust. Is this hurting anything?

 

It sounds a little sketchy. If it holds it'll be ok, When I run into this problem I get a cable stop, those brass things with a hole in it and a screw, can find them in the automotive store in the Motormite help section or at lawn mower repair shops.

 

the knot is up against the current stop so there isnt any way for it to sleep.

It just needed a little slack taken out
