th400 or th350
alright here is the deal. i need a new tranny and dont want to keep the 700r4. i have a th400 but i dont know if it needs a rebuild. it worked fine in the elcamino but there was a really bad dipstick tube base leak. or i found a tci performance tranny out of an elcamino mag for 850 with the 8" tailhousing so i would be able to maintain the stock driveshaft. what should i do rebuild the 400 or get the 350? i have a hi/med performance 350 for a motor.

i know i was thinking that. the way i figure it is have a shift kit thrown in on the 400 with the tuneup mods and then buying the relocating bracket and a junkyard 200r4 driveshaft. i think that is the one i need anyway. or buy the performance 350 and a mounting bracket and am set to go. either way i figured it will run the same price or so. free 400 that i know works but has a leak easily fixable but with the mounting kit and a driveshaft i will be pushing the price of a new tranny so i dont know should i stay with the 400 or upgrade to a performance 350?
