Variable Stall Control

I was reading in one of my Magazines (Car Craft or Hot Rod) about Variable Stall Control (VSC). I went back to look for the artical but cant find it, it was within the last month or two. Anyway I searched the net and could only come up with this site http://www.fbperformance.com/techtips/newtip.html. There is no pricing and they dont appear to have it available for TH350. Has anyone heard of this new technology or similar types of technology to manipulate your stall rate through fluid control or by other means. If so is it any good and what are the companies names that provide such a thing.

I thought that GM made a "switch-pitch" convertor with a Turbo 400 back in the '60s...I remember certain Pontiacs having it.

Other than that, I don't remember the exact specs on it.
