What kind of oil for a rear end?

What weight of gear oil should someone use for their rearend. Should it be 50/50 synthetic or just 75/80 or 80/90???

Oh, I also live in Saskatchewan Canada = +40 to -40 degrees

He means in Celsius. That's like 100* Farenheit to -50*. Extremes that few places see.

I'm running 80-90W in +100* weather right now. No problems so far.

Whichever you choose, I think synthetic is the way to go. It will at least provide some lubrication when starting off to someplace at -40!

50 weight seems a bit light but maybe about right for the winter.
