Needing some u-joint help, aluminum 4th gen shaft.

I just got an aluminum 4th gen shaft and it needs a new rear u-joint. The P/N on the shaft is 12564004, but I don't kow if it's an LS1 shaft or a 1LE shaft. Is there a difference in u-joints and these shafts? What joints have any of you guys installed?

Any advice is appreciated.

Ed

Doesn't that have to be pressed in anyway?

Take it somewhere and let them figure it out. It's cheap.

I dunno,

Yep.

The part number for the 1LE shaft is as follows: 10085375. I can offer no advice for your shaft since I have no personal experience; however, while the 1LE shaft is a direct bolt-in for 88 and up cars, it isn't for pre-88--at least it wasn't for my 85 IROC, which required a different rear U-joint to fit.
