leaking transmission fluid....

hi, my transmission is sitting on a jack under my car with no engine attached to it. to remove it from the engine i pushed the torque converter back into the tranny. the next day there was fluid all over my garage floor. where did it leak out of? did i break some kind of gasket when i pushed it back? what do i do to make it stop leaking when the engine is installed? or better yet, how do i put more fluid in??

is there a gasket or seal that i possibly broke between the torque converter and the transmission?

Can you see exactly where the fluid is coming from? I wonder if maybe the pump bushing is worn out, and the torque converter is "sagging" from not being supported by the flexplate and is distorting the seal. Just a wild guess, if it is coming from the pump cover. Try and take a good look at where its coming from. You didn't accidently punch a hole in the pan w/ the jack, did you? Gotta ask these things....
