Damn T56 availibility... within

I am doing a ZZ4/TPI with a T56 swap.

I already ordered the ZZ4 already and now I went to order the T56 from speedautomotive.com and they said that they have none and it may be up to a month before they get a 94-97 (I am not interested in the 1993's gear ratios). Where else can I get a quality T56 with all the aprts necessary from the same donor car for roughly $1500???

Also... I figure if I order the complete T56 package from a donor car all I will need afterwards is a T56 crossmember from Spohn, a speed decoder box for my 1989's speedometer, a manual shifter plate from a T5 car and a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch. Is that acurate or will I need other things as well.

Your help is greatly appreciated, as I want to get this project started becuase the summer is coming to a rapid finish.

i was cruisin on ebay and found one. i asked the guy to take it out of the auction block and just sell it to me and he did. 1900 dollars (US) got me:
1996 T56 from LT1 trans am
bellhousing
clutch
flywheel
driveshaft
pedals
yoke
slave/master cylinders
crossmember (although not usable)
shifter

all that for $1900 ON MY DOORSTEP (it includes shipping)
if you are patient enough youll find a good deal, it took me a while
and this is a great deal, most aftermarket ones are around 2000 for just the trans.
so be patient and youll find one. i will venture to say it has been worth the wait for most who have done it.
my trans should come by FedEx tomorrow or monday!

I've called a few junkyards around morristown, and one or two is offering a complete auto to manual swap for about 1500. That obviously doesnt include the custom X-member, but thats life. Good Luck.

I ended up finding a brand new one for $1500 on ebay. It came with the factory hurst shifter and a used bellhousing. If you want, I could give you the sellers email. He appparently sells quite a few of them.
