Ok i have a 700r4 and it has been having some problems but it does not always do this only like every so often. it will not switch out of the gears unless i take it up to about 3 k or little bit more and if you go from first and u take it to about 2-3 k and it does not switch and i let off, my rpms fall to about 1 thousand to a little more rpms and when i give it gas it will just spool up till i am at the rpm i left at and then it will accelerate pretty hard then it will give a fast really hard shift. i got the TV cable hooked up correctly i believe and it works for 95% of the time its just a random time comes up and has this problem. And also i can drive around about 10 miles and it still does it and then i park it and turn it off and it seems to work like normal again when i turn it back on. i recently put a tranny cooler in if that has to do with anything, the trans was doing that when it was a little bit low on trans mission fluid to when it was all the way to the top of the hot on the stick.

 

Sounds like the Throttle Valve is sticking. VERY common problem w/ these transmissions. I have found that usually a few tugs on the TV Cable will free it up, but thats a crappy thing to have to keep doing. The way to fix it for good is to install the TransGo Reprogramming kit. TrangGo has developed there own Throttle Valve, and it eliminates this problem.
