I know, most of you probably think I'm nuts, but as my name implies, I own a '73 - something. (I've got a '73 Corvette.) It has the stock TH400 in it, which works fine, but I can't STAND the lack of overdrive after getting accustomed to it in my '82. With 3.55 gears, it winds up pretty high @70mph. Usually around 3000RPM, which isn't much of a "cruise" RPM.

After a lot of research, I found that the 200-4R is a great replacement. Obviously, it's a weaker transmission, but that's nothing some upgrades won't cure. I'm not concerned about the upgrades. The transmission fits with very little modifications, as this is becoming the preferred transmission to put into the older C3 Corvettes that originally came with a TH400. The gear ratios are a lot better suited to the motor and the gears I have in the rear.

Does anyone here have a 200-4R that would be interested in swapping with me for my TH400..? Right now I don't have time to mess with it but I thought I'd see if anyone was interested. (Preferably someone around the Houston area.)
