torque converter

Hello,
Next week, I'm going to buy a 85 Z28E (cause I'm french and in france, we only can find Z28 Export)
But there's a problem... She has is a 350 GM crate built in Mexico, and there's a B&M Shift Kit in the automatic trans and a deep aftermarket trans oil pan whith cooling fins to dissipate heat.
The problem is when the car is started, and the engine is cold, there's a noise (a whistle) we can hear from the torque converter when the trans is on park or neutral. After a few minutes, when the engine is hot (so the oil of the trans too), the whistle disappears. The whistle seems coming from the torque converter (like air in it)...
There's no problem with the trans, but I'm afraid with this noise from the torque converter? Whe can hear the whistle only when the trans is on park or neutral and until the engine is hot (or after 6 miles)
Who can help me to resolve the problem (if it's a problem). Should I buy the car? The car will cost me 10000$ and changing a torque converter costs about 1000$ in France.

There are about 350 camaro 3rd gen in france (all models). For most of french people, camaro are like Porsche 911. (same value)
In france the US sport car is the Corvette (and lots of people mix them with Ferrari) or the Pontiac Transport.
In France, american cars are unknown. That's why they are so expensive. Imagine, a corvette 86 with 70000 miles is never less than 15000 $ and they are not in good conditions. A mistake, the transam is known... of course with "Knight Rider" movie like in US the Peugeot 403 with "Columbo"

There are more Firebird than Camaro... Why? Because it starts with the 2nd Gen and the movie "Smokey and the bandit and later "knight rider" for the 3rd Gen. There are about 500 firebird 3rd gen (70% v6, 30% v8). And a firebird V6 costs the same price than a camaro V8. In fact, v6 and v8 costs the same price. Why? Because the fuel in France costs more than 1$ a liter. And lots of people think a v8 needs 30-50 liters for 60 miles.
There's a big club in France with a website for Firebird but none for Camaro. Just a website for 3rd camaro lovers done by a friend who own a rare (in France) 350 TPI. There are only 3 camaro with stock 350 TPI in France... . So imagine with a crate engine... Only 1.
If you want photos of french camaro, go to www.camaro-3gen.com
Ok but what about my problem with the torque converter:hail:
