Clutch fork question

I suspect a bad clutch fork and pivot ball on my T5. Question, is it possible to replace the fork and ball without removing the tranny? The ball looks like it could thread into the bellhousing, but not thread out the back with the tranny in the way. If it can be done great, otherwise I will wait until my clutch dies. If anyone knows about this please let me know, Thanks

don't think so, there wouldn't be any way to get the throw out bearing off the fork and on my truck there was a "speed nut" sort of keeper that would be hard to get off. guess you could always try. but i think it'd be waste of time and an excersie in frustration.
