Question about 460LE
Yup, its called a "700R-4" The only way to ditch the electronic controls is to ditch the electronic trans. 700R-4 is the non-electric version of the 4L60-E.
The case is specially designed to work w/ the 4L60-E specific valvebody, which is based on electronic contol. It would be very difficult if not impossible to take that electronic control away. There are no provisions for a governer, no provisions for a TV Cable, etc... Not to mention, because of the elctronic controls, fluid is routed differently for many of the circuits. If anybody could create such a thing, I'm sure it would be cheaper to fix what ails your transmission, then to purchase one of these.

Seems like it would be a pain in the a$$ to switch from the electronic controls to the non-electronic controls....

It can't be done as the hard parts are the same, the valve body's are different. The passages in the case are different as well. JET has boxes to run electronic tranny's without a PCM (As with a carb or TPI or a 93 LT1) On the pricey side though, but you can control the shift points and firmness w/o getting your hands dirty.
