auto to t56 swap
I have a 88 Iroc...... 350 tpi.... so it has an auto.... I really really want a T56 6 spd..... how much work is involved.... and what all do i need.... is there a website that will give detailed steps??? if so hook me up please..... I have heard that the t5's are not strong enough to handle the 350.... is that true.... and if it is strong enough.... is it an easier swap? and a link to the site that would detail it
go to the "tech article" section on the first page, it has both step by step(or close to it) for both questions about the swap, as far as the t-5 being strong enough, depends on who you talk to, but IMO it depends on who is driving and how they drive including driving habits, I have several friends with high output cars with t-5s behind them with good luck, and others that blow it up everytime they try it. I dunno, its just up to you, if you want to be sure that it will NOT (extremely less likely atleast) then get the t-56 otherwise it is just an opinion.
