You remove the checkball and capsule assembly. Make sure you install a new O-ring on the input shaft. Add one quart of fluid to the TC before installing it.

What does the the checkball and capsule assembly actually do? Does it only have to be removed with the ACT converters?

It is the orifice for TCC oil. Makes for quicker apply. Do NOT run out and start doing this on stock Converters as it can tear the damper out real quick.

How do you remove it? Is it that X looking thing in the input shaft? Do you just put a screwdriver in there and turn it out and thats it or do I need to do someting else? I am running the ACT converter on a 700R4.

I guess use whatever is at hand. A screw extractor is recommended.

I agree with transfixleo on this, remove the checkball assembly on the small diameter TC's only, this makes for a quicker/firmer apply.
