recommendations - replacing rear

this summer after spinning twice at 85 my car slammed parallel into a curb at 55mph and jumped 1/2 way over it, slowing down over the course of 100 yards. It did all this while traveling backwards while still in gear. 2nd gear to be exact. as i limped it home it whined a lot in the back and when i turned the corner to climb our hill i thought the back right was going to quit turning altogether =/

anyway i miss my car a lot, but i'm rebuilding it next year and a new rear is one of the things i'm putting in

the specs on my GTA v2 are :

LT4 engine making ~429hp/400tq
on a T-56 with 3" aluminum driveshaft
direct port spraying 125-150 shot of N20.

I'd really like grabby discs on the rear so should i be looking for a rear off an LT1/LS1 firebird or camaro ?

(i had 3.73's w/posi in my GTA and they were great, if i could get 3.73's posi'd behind my car again i'd be stoked )

thx again for all the help you guys can give me

Grab a moser 12 bolt or a Moser 9"

I'm going with a moser 9" for my tt 377

are you getting p/n BP9HP2 ? @ $920 for a complete rear (minus brakes) that looks awesome, and i know that moser makes quality products so no worries about stripping the gears

do you know which rear it's based on, the thirdgen or the 4thgen ? i have to start looking at brake solutions, and i also have to decide which rims i want before i pick rims - 97 WS6 rims for a 4thgen rear or repro. firehawk rims for a thirdgen

moser 12 bolt for f-body

im using the moser 12 bolt dedicated to the f body. torque arm mount etc. it installed very easy just asemble the brakes of your choice an axles. i went top line on gears axles 4 piston discs and narowed 3/4 inch on each side at no charge. it was like $2700 but worth it an it will never break!. if you instal the ssm lift bar kit at same time you dont have to run a torque bar any more. stay all chevy dude
